So we found ourselves at the
CT Berlin Fair yesterday - and boy did we have an absolute blast! I was so impressed on how well organized this fair is! Getting there and parking was even a cinch! And can I mention FUN!? There was something for everyone - from food, to entertainment - and of course beer!
Kinsmen Brewing were there with two brews made specifically for the fair! The greatest thing about this fair is that you're not restricted to a tent to enjoy brews - although they do have a beer tent too. I think it's the only one in the state of CT that allows you to walk freely throughout the fair with a pour, and for these two craft beer nerds...it sure made the fair that much more enjoyable!

With Nick from Kinsmen |
First off we found the craft beer pretty quickly (of course we did) - and we were pleasantly surprised to see it was a new brewery we had never tried before:
Kinsmen Brewing out of Milldale, CT. As we were receiving our pours, we met and had a great time chatting with Nick from the brewery, who had come over to see how we liked our brews. We ordered both beers they had on tap which were both brewed specifically for the Berlin Fair - the American Robin pale Ale 5.9% and the Leafer Amber Lager 5.8%.

American Robin & Leafer |
American Robin is an American pale ale brewed with with Citra, Cascade, Centennial,
Zythos, and Columbus hops - sweet & citrusy with notes of melon & mango - super yummy. In fact, we went back and got a
few more pours of this one for our second round - as shown in the ferris wheel picture at the top of the post. Leafer is an Amber Lager and is exactly how they describe it...light and crisp, malty with honey notes. Both were yummy and refreshing - perfect for walking around the fair - and might I say great for pairing with the tacos and baked potatoes in the booth next door! We will definitely be visiting this brewery soon! Can't wait to try more brews from these guys! Highly recommend checking out these beers if you get up to the Berlin Fair this weekend!

Chris feeding Jacob |
After some brews & eats, we went over to visit our friends at the
Circle K Farm tent! In case you didn't know, we're suckers for animals - especially goats! Circle K Farm has goats, Alpacas, ponies and sheep! This family travels all over to different events with their animals - educating and allowing folks to interact. We actually met Circle K at the
Hartford Yard Goats baseball stadium - where one of their goats, Fancy Pants, is the unofficial mascot! You can even buy a bobble head of Fancy! The Yard Goats is where Chris met and fell in love with Marshmallow the baby goat. Unfortunately Marshmallow and Fancy were home - but we did get to meet many other cutey goats and also Jacop the sheep, who thinks he is a dog! Chris got to feed him and they became fast friends!
Here's some other pictures from from our adventures at the fair:
