Easter Beer Tour / Meg's 1000th

We decided Easter should be about enjoying the nice weather, walking some trails... and drinking beer of course! We hit up an insane amount of places in one day... and at the end of the day we popped a special brew for Meghan's 1000th unique beer check-in on Untapp'd...

Location: Fort Trumbull - New London, CT
Drinking: Thimble Island (CT) 4 Horsemen Dark Ale 9%

Sorry we didn't snap a shot of  the brew - we were very distracted watching two guys chase their dogs who got loose together and apparently started a fight. Ack!

Location: Spicer Park - Noank, CT
Drinking: Jack's Abby (MA) Excess IPL 7.6%

Chris wanted to show me where he and the crew play wiffleball so we took a drive to Noank. Hopefully they start it up again this summer because I would love to see my dude play!!

Location: Beebe Pond - Mystic, CT
Drinking: Stoneface (NH) IPA 7.2%

We found the elusive New Hampshire Stoneface beer in Westerly, RI a week before at one of our "go to" packy's, Dick's World of Wines, so we snatched up a few and popped one during our walk on the trails. Pretty awesome beer. Chris made sure we got this picture of his face and the stone... get it?

Location: The Engine Room - Mystic, CT
Drinking: Jack's Abby (MA) Excess IPL 7.6%
DC Brau (DC) Alpha Domina Mellis III Double IPA 8.5% (tasted)

We found ourselves hungry (and somehow still thirsty) so we went to one of our favorite places to grab a bite & a brew, The Engine Room in Mystic. They have THE BEST happy hour special everyday from 4-6pm. You can grab a killer happy hour burger (it's snack size but bigger than a slider) for $5 and all bar bites are 1/2 off... such as Hump's favorite... deviled eggs. He gets them every time. He's addicted. They also had newly added stuffed cherry peppers on the menu - so we tried those too. Holy crap they had quite a kick but were delicious!! What was on tap? We tried Alpha Domina Mellis III Double IPA 8.5% by DC Brau which was $12, for what size glass I now forget, but either way, it wasn't worth it. Ok beer, just not for that price! We wound up ordering a beer we had already enjoyed earlier in the day that is quickly becoming a favorite... Jack's Abby (MA) Excess IPL 7.6%

Location: Peqout Woods - Mystic, CT
Drinking: New England Brewing (CT) G-Bot 8.8%

So check out what we found on our walk through the woods... actually, just watch this video:

We were *really* shocked that no one picked these cans up because they were literally right on the trail! Especially the rip top can... that thing has to be like 30 years old?!?

As if our adventures through out the day weren't enough... we decide to check out downtown on the way home. We hit up High 5's and I had a Beer'd (CT) Sojourner Saison 6%. It was really good and refreshing. I can't remember what Chris got but he's not a huge fan of saisons so I know it wasn't that, ha.  I think we may have even hit up Oasis Pub too? Yeah, long day! Anyway I was one beer away from hitting 1000 unique beers on Untappd so we ended our day back at "Hump's inferno house" and popped a special beer... Two Roads (CT) Igor's Dream Russian Imperial stout aged in a single maple whiskey barrel 10.9%.
