Weekend Recap: Blue Hound Cookery / Grey Sail

Well it's already the middle of the week, (and after a long holiday weekend), so that means it's time for a weekend recap!
We were out in Deep River today - and we hit up the local packy - Shore Discount Liquors - that was previously a funeral home - no joke! It's actually really cool and not as creepy as it sounds! We found DuClaw Neon Gypsy IPA with blood orange. I actually had this on tap not that long ago, but wasn't really getting any of the blood orange - not sure if it was the tap lines or what - so we wanted to try it out of the bottle. I would definitely say this is one of those beers to drink out of the bottle. The blood orange is mostly on the end and it really lingers - the bottle even says "it roams your palate long after" - and I find this to be very true! I most certainly got more blood orange out of the bottle than I did when I had this on tap. Very excited we tried this again! I like this brew a lot - DuClaw is awesome!

Since we were *sort of* in the area, we decided to jet on over to the Blue Hound Cookery. We've been there once before, but it's been awhile, so we went to see what they had on tap!

They had a lot of good beer - lots of local - this place is awesome. We ordered a Black Hog THC: Citra APA 5.5% and a Thimble Island Goasaic Gose dry hopped with Mosaic - and oh man an was that beer amazing. MOTHER HUMPER!!! Thimble Island actually commented on our Instagram of this above picture with "Now that's a sexy couple!" - and we couldn't agree more!!

Then we found the shuffleboard table - and that's pretty much where the rest of the time went. How did Chris put it.... something like... "when I lose it's always epic" .... yeah, that's pretty much it! HA!

Since Monday was Memorial Day, (thank you to those who gave their lives to serve this country), we decided to have some lunch in Westerly, RI at the Malted Barley and then head to the Grey Sail Tap Room. Yeah, we can't stay away from this place - it's THAT awesome!

I managed to snap some pictures of the front, and more of the gardens that I didn't get last time...

We enjoyed Captain's Daughter DIPA 8,5%, Pour Judgement IPA 6.5% and Black Mast Stout 6.2% - and of course they were all fabulous. MOTHER HUMPER!!
