So we've been busy the last few weekends... some beer related, some not. Let's catch you up on the BEER related part...
Last weekend we headed to lunch at an Old Saybrook staple, The Monkey Farm. Again, Chris used to live here and frequent this place so I was excited to finally get here and see what all the hub-bub was about. Everyone always tells me how amazing their food is, so I was ready to eat! The parking lot was full, and the place was jammin'... but we managed to find a couple seats at the bar! There's not much craft beer here - but go figure the first time I show up they start serving Two Roads Road 2 Ruin DIPA 8%. Can't go wrong with that! Chris convinced me that the burgers were the way to go, so that's what we did, and holy crap.... amazing! If you're in the area, please stop here for lunch! One of the oldest bars in town, if not the state - and great food and atmosphere! DO IT!
Sunday we went to Beer'd to pick up some cans - which I understand they are now releasing every other weekend - this weekend they had Dogs and Boats DIPA 9.1%. We ordered a World at Large pale and some homemade pretzels - and for the life of me I cannot seem to find the name of the business that were there selling them!! Someone help me please! Anyone know? I'm a bad blogger, should have noted the sign! I'm sorry! I will find out, I promise! Either way, these guys are there a lot - so chances are if you go, they'll be there! Anyway, they were amazing!!! Perfect start to the day!
After taking in some afternoon live music we wound up at High 5's in New London for a brew and some wings!! We met up with some friends and this is what we had: from left to right: Founders Sumatra Mountain Brown 9%; Sixpoint Puff DIPA 9.8%; Beer'd Frank + Berry DIPA 9.1%.
